Chicago, IL, also known as the windy city, is the third largest city in the United States with a population of approximately three million people. It is located in the northern region of Illinois, and it is known for various qualities such as its food, architecture, museums, and Chicago sports teams. With such a high population, Chicago is a rapidly growing city in multiple industries, such as finance, entertainment, sports, technology, and education. As a result, it has grown to become one of the most popular cities for people to visit in the United States.
Chicago is given the nickname the “Windy City” because of its extremely cold weather associated with freezing wind chill from Lake Michigan. Chicago has very differentiated seasons all throughout the year ranging from hot and humid summers all the way to snowy and frigid winters. Despite these extreme climatic conditions, Chicago has fair weather as well. Some of the best times of the year to visit Chicago would be from April through May and September through October. This is when Chicago is between seasons and the weather would be in a transitional period.
As one of the largest metropolitan cities in the world, Chicago is truly a sight to see. There are several tall buildings in the city that contribute towards its beautiful skyline. When visiting Chicago there are definitely many architectural masterpieces that one should consider going to when sightseeing. This includes the famous bean in Millenial Park, the Chicago School, and the many skyscrapers within the busy city.
